I started as programmer. Then I grow into web developer, which is more interesting then geek Math Lab coder or accounting software
designer. And I was very solid, in fact good at it. So, I joined Laboratory of informational system, and was one of the first members of Laboratory for software engineering on my Faculty of organization science.
But, I had to invest into my social and emotional intelligence. In some very high a-ha moments in my life / when you think you can verbalize what will be the really the best possible occupation for you / I managed to think about combination of both. So, I pointed out: I will be the guy who’s job is to get user requirements for software products. Yeah right…
“True development”
So, I finally went abroad and worked in Germany as the real little scientist. I was doing in Laboratory under the ground with some very expensive tools… and I built some wrappers and interfaces and communicators, and .NET libraries. And, maybe, that was very good school – I realize what I will not do.
But, to point out how good I was in things that I will (90 %) not do anymore, here is an email from my mentor in Bosch:
Your software (AtmoVisionHalconTS, AtmoVisionMatlabTS) is used in an increasing number of applications by our colleagues from ATMO in Feuerbach and up to now only two smaller bugs came up. Sometimes I am asked on how things are programmed and then I am digging into your software and then I see which great job you did (because when you started developing this software, nothing was available).
